Having a new accessible bathroom installed in your home can be very important for having more freedom with debilitating mobility conditions. Operated by your local council, these grants do differ within the various authorities so we always recommend checking with them when applying.
This grant is entirely dependent on the household’s income and savings. This means that the grant may not pay for the installation in full but it will contribute significantly.
It is important to note that if work has already started on your property, you may not receive a grant from your local council.
Once you have been approved for the grant and get to the stage where the council is ready to pay you the funds, there are some different options.
As we progress through the work, you will receive installments that you will then send to us periodically.
This option means you will be paid in full after the project is finished.
Sometimes the council may wish to pay us as the contractor directly. This may be in the form of a cheque that is passed on to us at the completion of the project.
You will receive the funds for the grant typically when the council are satisfied with the finished work & when you pass on the invoice from us to them.

If you are a landlord and your tenant is disabled, then you can also apply for the Disabled Facilities Grant on their behalf. In terms of your property & the work carried out, there are certain criteria that must be met in order to receive the funds.
