Benefits of a walk-in shower

Accessible showers can make a big difference to your bathing routine, providing safety and peace of mind and offer the following benefits:

  • Low-level entry – our shower trays are easy to access and come in a range of heights. Choose from 0mm, 25mm or 40mm height.
  • Slip-resistant surfaces – step into your shower with confidence.
  • Thermostatic shower controls – adjust the temperature to suit you quickly and easily.
  • Additional safety – adding grab rails can help you enter and manoeuvre in the shower with confidence – available in a wide choice of designs.
  • Safety shower doors – choose from a wide choice of tempered glass shower screens for increased strength (fixed and door styles available).
  • Easy cleaning – adding watertight wall panelling can save so much time with no grout to clean!

Types Of Walk-In Showers

Space is the biggest factor to consider when redesigning any bathroom. This is particularly true for customers who need more open space to help them shower safely. To ensure we can offer this, our range of walk-in showers can be fully customised to fit strict space requirements. Our walk-in showers offer both style and practicality.

Corner Showers

A great example of a space saving design would be a corner shower. One of the best options for homeowners with smaller bathrooms. Smaller than other types of walk-in showers, yet still offering a spacious feel. The surrounding walls can be protected by three tiled walls and a singular glass door.

Folding Seats

Having a shower can be demanding for aching bodies. To make your experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible, why not add a folding seat to your shower? You won’t have to worry about standing for longer periods of time and will be much safer while using the shower.

Low Level Access

Low level access showers have a very small step. The step is usually 60mm or less, and the floor is made of slip-resistant materials for your safety. They’re easy to get in and out of, even with limited mobility. However, if you are a wheelchair user you’ll want to look at a level access shower.

Level Access

For wheelchair users and those who need total step-free access, level access showers are the way to go. These are a great integration into a wet room, where the ground is entirely level. This also makes cleaning much easier and offers a stylish, modern aesthetic.

FAQ

Yes. We offer low-level shower tray options. This choice is ideal for those that struggle with a stepping into a traditional height shower. If this option appeals to you, speak to our surveyors to see if this type of installation is suitable for your home. Alternatively, you may wish to consider a wet room installation.

Yes. Even if you have a small bathroom, we can design it to include products that fit your space perfectly.

The cost very much depends on what you need. We work through the options with you and agree on a design and a price. For peace of mind we always fix the price before we start work. This means that if it takes us longer we won’t charge you more, unless we uncover something completely unexpected. We also offer discounts for the over 60’s, military veterans and, as part of our association with Alzheimer’s Society, for those with dementia.

Depending on your circumstances, you may qualify for a Disabled Facilities Grant from your local council to help cover the cost of your accessible bathroom installation. Just speak to our team and we can help you to find out if you qualify.
